Skyjack Telehandler, CVTCorp Transmission Go To Production

CVTCorp said its mechanical continuously variable transmission (mCVT), the EcoMec 150, is now available to order on new Skyjack TH telehandlers rated from 6000 to 12000 lb. The transmission option is branded EcoShift by Skyjack.

“We are proud to offer this cutting edge mCVT EcoShift option on our TH series telehandler range,” said Brad Boehler, president of Linamar Corp.’s Skyjack division. “The CVTCorp EcoMec 150 fits our strategy to continue providing quality engineered, simple, and reliable products. EcoShift adds an extra dimension to our product line and the pulse of the market for it is positive.”

The result of over 15 years of development, CVTCorp said its mCVT transmission offers off-highway equipment manufacturers such as Skyjack a fully validated and scalable solution for operational ease, engine downsizing opportunities and overall vehicle performance improvements that are in the 20 to 30% range. The company said that because of its CVT characteristics and control system, the EcoMec 150 allows for more productivity, more uptime and more safety while preventing equipment abuse by operators.

Skyjack showed a production version of the new telehandler at the January 2018 World of Concrete show in Las Vegas, Nev.
