In an effort to strengthen its sales organization, Detroit Diesel Corp. (DDC) has announced several personnel appointments to its sales staff. Bruce Smalley has been appointed vice president of sales responsible for NAFTA on- highway engine sales. Smalley will report to Mark Lampert, senior vice president of sales for Freightliner Trucks, Sterling Trucks and Western Star Truck brands. Smalley was Freightliner’s general manager of marketing and strategy.
DDC also added two regional general managers. Brian Cota has been named Central region general manager and Greg Stahl becomes Northeast region general manager. He will oversee sales, product support and customer satisfaction for all on-highway products for various applications. DDC also said Roger Day, vice president of national accounts will retire in December 2005. Don Kilfin, currently a DDC national accounts representative, will succeed Day.
